What is the Better Energy Communities Grant Scheme?

Better Energy Communities is an Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme available through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and applied for by Tipperary Energy Agency in partnership with NTLP (North Tipperary Leader Partnership).

Who can avail of the Better Energy Communities Grant Scheme?

• Community facilities such as community halls, resource centres, schools and sports clubs can avail of up to 50% funding.
• SME’s, large commercial buildings, private nursing homes and hotels can avail of up to 30% funding.

What type of work can you avail of under the Better Energy Communities Grant Scheme?

• Insulation Upgrades
• Lighting Upgrades
• Renewable Energy Installations
• Heating Upgrades including wood boilers or heat pumps
• Window/Door Upgrades
• Motor/Compressor Replacements (process)
• Ventilation and Refrigeration

• All applicants must at application stage provide a current tax clearance certificate.

• All applicants must at application stage provide a letter from Revenue stating the VAT status

• All contractors must be procured in a manner to demonstrate value for money.

• All works must be completed, paid for & proof of remittance provided within the timeframe to be supplied by SEAI.

• The Applicant must demonstrate that they will provide full payment to all contractors for the works and then claim the grant.

• Energy Credits associated with the projects will be signed over to NTLP
